The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation is proud to announce a $195,000 investment  in FLIPANY to expand its HYPE – Healthy Youth Practices Everywhere program across Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

At our foundation, we believe lasting impact happens when investments are rooted in place, focused upstream, and designed to reinforce long-term community health. Prevention is not peripheral to our strategy — it is central to it.

HYPE embodies that approach.

For many children in South Florida, access to nutritious food, structured physical activity, and practical wellness education is inconsistent or out of reach. Without early intervention, those gaps often become entrenched health disparities — higher rates of obesity, chronic disease, and preventable long-term illness.

FLIPANY intervenes early.

Through HYPE, youth receive sustained, mentored physical activity, hands-on nutrition education, and wellness programming delivered directly through schools and trusted community partners. This is consistent engagement that builds lifelong habits — not a one-time experience.

With our support, the program will reach more than 800 youth, expanding access in high-need communities and strengthening local prevention infrastructure.

This investment reflects our theory of change in action:

  • Invest early to reduce downstream health burdens
  • Strengthen community-based partners already embedded in place
  • Build reinforcing systems that connect education, nutrition, and wellness
  • Measure impact to improve outcomes over time

When children learn how to fuel their bodies, move confidently, and understand their health, we are not just improving individual outcomes. We are reducing long-term healthcare strain, strengthening families, and building a healthier regional ecosystem.

Healthy Youth Practices Everywhere is more than a program name.

It is a blueprint for the kind of durable, place-based impact we seek to advance — one child, one habit, one community at a time.
