Helping Leaders That Build Tomorrow

Inspired by the innovative spirit and generous heart of entrepreneur and humanitarian Carl Angus DeSantis, this Foundation was established to honor his legacy while providing game-changing support for nonprofits and individuals whose initiatives model DeSantis’s guiding principles. With a focus on Civic Innovation, Faith-based Giving, Health & Nutrition, and Leadership & Entrepreneurship, our mission is to champion people of action who are a transformative force for good in this world.

What We Support

Civic Innovation

The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation understands the importance of building vibrant and sustainable communities.

We support community efforts that help cities transform their public spaces into vital places that highlight local assets, spur rejuvenation, and serve common needs. The Foundation will invest in unique projects that add beauty and vitality to our local communities. We also invest in innovative civic programs that improve our community.

Examples include, but are not limited to, unique crime prevention strategies, after school tutoring, affordable housing initiatives, college preparation, job creation, beautification efforts and economic development.

We believe in the power of communities to transform lives and stand ready to assist the next generation of civic leaders as they build our community.

Faith Based Giving

The Carl Angus DeSantis Foundation’s passion is to help others by providing generous support of programs designed to alleviate human suffering. The CADF prefers to support agencies that assist people who have fallen on hard times, have special needs or need additional training and education to improve their lives.

We aim to support organizations and programs that serve as a “Lighthouse in the Community”.

By supporting faith-based organizations, we demonstrate our belief that spiritual activities serve an important function to bring about social change.

The Foundation will ordinarily deny grant requests (as adopted by our Board of Directors) for:

  1. For routine operating expenses.

  2. To pay off deficits or pre-existing debt.

  3. Church planting.

Health & Nutrition

From his early days in Miami, our founder Carl DeSantis, has been passionate about health and nutrition. His interest spurred him to create Rexall Sundown in his garage growing the company until it became one of the world’s leading vitamin manufacturers and brands.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Carl invested in a beverage company named Celsius which disrupted the energy drink category by offering consumers a healthy alternative to sugary drinks.

To honor Mr. DeSantis’ lifelong fascination with health and nutrition, the Foundation supports programs and organizations that devise strategies for improving human health.

Leadership & Entrepreneurship

Leadership and entrepreneurship are the two things that transform communities. It’s the visionaries, creators and risk takers who move our world forward and build better tomorrows for all of us.

The Foundation honors our founder’s track record of leadership and entrepreneurship by supporting programs and initiatives that nurture, train, and grow the next generation of game changers.
